Louisville, Colorado is Number One Again! (Say's Money Magazine)

September 22, 2011 14:40 by dlofgreen

Okay, not to brag but Money Magazine has named Louisville the best small town to live in (or something like that) again. Louisville, Colorado is a great community for sure. I have loved living here ever since we moved in 10 years ago. For a little bedroom community we have some pretty swank places to eat and shop. There are really nice people here too. Here are some shots I took just bumming around the neighborhood last summer, Friday night street fair, walking trails and old town.

If you ever get a chance to come to town make sure you hit the old town main street and grab some great tacos, burgers or a nice cold one.

Boulder County Senior Portrait

August 18, 2011 10:35 by dlofgreen

I had a great time photographing Kendra's senior photos a few days ago. It was one of those summer days in Colorado with afternoon scatered rain showers. Of course it scatered on us, but that didn't slow us down. We got some fantastic photographs she and her family are really happy with.

Family Portraits

October 11, 2010 12:08 by dlofgreen

It has been a little while since my last post. it has been really busy the last couple of weeks. I have had the pleasure to photograph a couple more families for their family portrait. Everyone seems to want to get the family photo in before the snow flies here. This beautiful family was a blast to photograph. We just let our hair down and let the kids play a little, and then we would shoot a bit and then play some more. We all had a great time, even the kids!

There are some more family shoots I need to post and a couple of High School Senior portraits I did in the last few days too. So, yeah, it's been busy. Oh, I almost forgot. I got my F4 out of the repair shop! Man I can't tell you how much fun that camera is to shoot. I am glad it's back in my bag. I will post some pics from it in a while.

A New Website

August 13, 2010 22:15 by dlofgreen

I have spent some time upgrading my website the last few weeks. Now it's live and I thought I would let you all know and have you go take a look www.lofgreenimages.com. It uses a new javascript gallery system and a totaly new stylesheet. It may not look too different from the last version but it's a pretty big facelift. If you have any probelms with it make sure you send me an email so I can try to fix it.

Take That Photograph Now, Don't Wait

May 5, 2010 21:21 by dlofgreen

If you’re like me you are always carrying a camera around with you so when you see a photo you can take a quick capture and move on with whatever you were doing. Sometimes there are things I pass buy everyday and think "I need to take a shot of that", but at the same time you think "I will get it next time I come by". Well guess what, things change. I have learned that a photograph is only there for an instant, even if you think you see it over and over. The light will never be exactly the same again or the colors may not be as intense the next time you get around to taking that photo.

Reflections of snow covered junipers and an oak tree in office building windows

The image above was something I used to see every day. I would walk past this spot outside of an office building as I was going in all the time. One day a few weeks back I took advantage of some snow falling and went back to shoot this shot that I had in my mind for a while. Good thing I did! As of today it is gone. The tree and junipers have been removed for some updated landscaping. If I had waited much longer to shoot this one I wouldn't have it to add to my black and white images. So I learned a lesson, again, that you should always shoot it when you see it because it may never be there again.
